Accessing the User-Defined System Colors, Part I

The table on the left is an example of how each color is discussed in the following pages.

The background color of the top-left cell is dynamically-generated for IE4Win32 users, and hard-coded for all others, according to the logic outlined in the Important Note, on the previous page.

The top-right cell hosts the color name.

Next, a screenshot of the Windows Display Properties dialog is inserted, showing the selection set by the user to change the color's value.

Under this, we include a screenshot of application elements using this color.

Yet Another Note: All our screenshots assume the user sets the discussed color to red. This allows us to illustrate the affected elements in a more noticeable, and certainly more dramatic way.

So let's start with two colors, the most-often altered one, and a hardly-ever-altered one.
