Accessing the User-Defined System Colors, Part I
IE4Win32
highlight | |
The background color of all selected text is set with the Selected Items option under Item:
In the example window of the Display Properties dialog, a selected menu-bar item is shown to take this value.
In Explorer, the menu bar item does not get a "selected" background, but the selected plain text and selected menu item do.
In Navigator, all selected items have a highlight background color.
Another DHTML must! Very useful for creating menu rollovers, and "fake" menu bar highlighting. |
highlighttext | |
The text color of all selected text is set by first selecting the Selected Items option under Item:, then specifying a color under Font:
Explorer uses this value for regular selected text and menu selections, but not for the menu bar.
Navigator uses the value for the menu bar and menu selections, but not for regular text.
Like highlight, we'll be using highlighttext for menu rollovers and menu bar highlights. |
Finally, our last couple of values are used by tool tips.
