Step 5-
Set up hatching layers

Create three new layers, and name the four layers in the file as follows: Shadows, 3/4s, mids, and 1/4s.

Select each image and cut and paste it to its respective layer. For example, select the 3/4 tone image at the upper right and cut it by selecting Command-X. Then select the 3/4s layer in the layers palette and paste the image by selecting Command-V. Do the same for the mids and the 1/4s.

As a result, you will have four filter results, each in its own layer. In the next step, we will apply a stroke color to each layer.
