TOURBUS
Okay. I'll admit it. This is shameless self-promotion.
However, if you have enjoyed Roadmap96, you might want to check out my latest online activity: TOURBUS. TOURBUS is a free, text-based virtual tour of the Net. Twice a week, Dr. Bob Rankin and I take you on a tour of some of the best sites on the Net, giving you step-by-step pointers to make your time online even more enjoyable. Best of all, TOURBUS is absolutely FREE! (TOURBUS is a *distribution* list, much like the Roadmap96 list. THE DAILY BRIEF
If you have a hard time keeping up with the latest news, the Daily Brief is for you. The Daily Brief is a 4-6 page news summary sent out by e-mail every weekday morning. Included in the Brief are one- or two-sentence summaries of major news events that have occurred during the past 24 hours. (The Daily Brief is a distribution list, not a discussion list.)

EDUPAGE
EDUPAGE is a "summary of news items on information technology, and is provided three times each week as a service by Educom -- a consortium of leading colleges and universities seeking to transform education through the use of information technology."
EDUPAGE does not talk about education, but it does give one paragraph summaries of technology stories printed in leading newspapers and magazines. (EDUPAGE is a *distribution* list, not a discussion list.)

THE EFF'S GUIDE TO THE INTERNET
Since I have referred to it so often, I guess I should tell you how to get the EFF's guide. :) The Electronic Frontier Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that fights for the rights of folks like you and me on the Net. The EFF is one of my favorite resources on the Net, and I *strongly* recommend that you visit their sites as often as possible. Their Gopher site is absolutely HUGE, and their Web site is one of the ten most visited Web sites in the World.
