Detecting Current Frame

One of the Flash movie's properties is CURRENT FRAME. You may only get this property. The CURRENT FRAME property designates the frame that the movie is currently playing. You can get Flash properties by their sequence numbers. The CURRENT FRAME property is no. 4, so you get its value by going:

  mySwf.TGetProperty(timeline, 4);

Play the following movie by clicking the Play link. Get the CURRENT FRAME of the movie by clicking the Get CURRENT FRAME link:

You can also use the TCurrentFrame() Flash method to find out the frame number that is currently playing. The syntax is simple:

  mySwf.TCurrentPlayer(timeline);

This method returns the number of the current frame for the timeline specified by timeline. The returned frame number is zero-based. Play around with the following links, and find out which frame the movie is currently on while it is playing. Play it to the end and find out the last frame:
