Vary the Cloning Points
The key to convincing use of the Rubber Stamp tools is to set a variety of reference points. In the last step a reference point was set for the light brown brick at the top. In the first example on this page, the reference point is the warm red brick on the lower left.
In this case a feathered brush was selected, and the opacity was reduced. By using transparent brush strokes, the ladder is covered with a dense build up of pattern and texture.
A third reference point was created in the cool red brick section on the right. This was used on the rest or the ladder. Once again, the opacity was reduced to feather the two brick colors together.
