Although there are no built-in DHTML and JavaScript methods to identify installed fonts on a user's system, it is possible with the workaround function discussed in this column.

Prerequisites
Familiarity with simple creation and updating of positioned elements in both Explorer and Navigator. Most of the content at DHTML Lab uses positioned elements.
First you must be convinced that there is a good reason for identifying installed fonts.
