Plate Owner Registration About the Owner

Dave Haber CALPL8S

Dave Haber CAPL8S

Dave Haber

Registered in 2001 for a 1991 Red Isuzu Pickup Truck. Dave Haber is a Web designer and a programmer. First online earlier this year, calpl8s.com is a Web site which documents - you guessed it - the license plates of California.
Alison Gianotto NY SNIPE

Alison Gianotto

Registered in California in 2000 for a '98 Red Plymouth Neon. Originally from New York, Alison Gianotto's original NY plate read SNIPENET, the URL for her Web site (Snipe.Net) that has been up and running for about 4 1/2 years. When her job as a Technical Director at Inter@ctivate moved her to California she was disappointed to learn that CA allowed only 7 letters on their plates; hence the new plate: NY SNIPE.
Merle EZINE AD

Merle

Registered in 2001 in Ohio. Merle registered this plate in early 2001 to promote her Web site, Ezine Ad Auction.
Allen Wakefield ATARI

Allen Wakefield

Registered in 2000 in Atlanta, Georgia, currently attached to a 2000 XTerra. Allen has been collecting ATARI games and systems and arcade games since 1995..
Jim Chaudrue CALPL8S

Jim Chaudrue

Appears on a 1991 Ford Bronco that's kept in the garage. Jim registered this plate because he "sometimes has the urge to do some computer hacking."
Kevin Savetz ATARI2

Kevin Savetz

Registered in Missouri, purchased on eBay, but no longer attached to a vehicle. Kevin is a freelance computer and technology journalist and runs https://www.savetz.com.
Eric McIntyre TZOCOM

Eric McIntyre

Registered in New Hampshire on a BMW. "Here is my new NH plate for my BMW, I am the co founder of TZO.COM, and decided that I would proudly display my TZO.COM on my car. This plate is actually TZOCOM, but I cut out a little piece of electrical tape, and stuck the 'DOT' on the front and rear plates. I figured this would be smarter than permanent marker, so if it is illegal to put the "DOT" on there, I can take if off with ease. This is rare, since not may folks have a three letter domain name to put on their license plate."
Bob Riley PCSBYBOB

Bob Riley

Registered April 2001 in Albany, New York on my 1988 Dodge Dakota Sport pick 'em up truck. About the owner: I'm an Independent Technology Solutions Provider for Handtech. I came up with PCsByBob.com when I was trying to create a catchy, easily remembered url that I could put on a door magnet to advertise my business. Now drivers can see my domain name from the back and sides as they pass me. Obeying the speed limit may actually be profitable for me. :)
Jim Mastro JAVAXML

Jim Mastro

Registered in CA in 2000 on a 1997 F-250 Ford Crew-Cab "Monster Truck" Jim Mastro is a Java Developer and XML Evanglist at Gauss-Interprise in Irvine, CA, manufacturer of the Versatile Internet Platform (VIP) Content Management System. Jim says non-programmers think his plate stands for "Java Animal" so he went along with it and wrote it on the plate's frame. "People think I'm some sort of coffee-drinking animal," says Jim. This is not completely untrue, since Jim says he does drink "too much" coffee, and his nickname is really "Animal" - although Jim prefers to use O'Reilly's slogan saying he's "a different kind of Animal."
Dave Clark NETBRO

Dave Clark

This plate was registered in 2000 and rides on an Acura Integra. I'm a printer by trade and a volunteer writer and photographer (and brother) at Internetbrothers.com, a great source for tips on Web site design, digital photography and much more.
Kate McDonald DEVCAR

Kate McDonald

Registered in Ohio in 2000. I had this on my 1998 pearl Saturn SL2, but now that I have traded that in for a convertible, I am going to think of something else, I think. I picked it because I wanted something unix-y (i've been working with unix for about 9 years now and it's my fave class of OS) but relatively obscure, an "in" joke.
Mike D. WEBDUDE

Mike D.

Registered on a 2000 Honda Civic Si EBP Web developer in Cyberspace - ASP - JavaScript - HTML - DHTML - SQL. WEBDUDE is me cause I'm just a dude that loves the Web. Independant programmer and honda enthusiast. I reside in Las Vegas and Southern California.
Brad Jones IMGSRC

Jones Brad

Registered in SF Bay Area CA, 1996 to adorn a VW Jetta GLS...about to be moved to an Audi S4. When I bought the car, I had originally thought that I would get WWWDZNR or WEBDZNR, to go along with a chrome frame I had made for my Wed design/development startup. DMV gave me a plate that had SRC in it, and it just clicked! I had been writing that damn code for months!! It only made sense. Honk if you see me..not many people get it!
R. Ivan Linderman HTMLHLP

R. Ivan Linderman

Registered in California. Not surprising, I'm a help author.
Gordon E. Brown DOTEDU.

Gordon E. Brown

DOT EDU was registered in January 2001 and is attached to a black Chrysler PT Cruiser. My name is Gordon Brown, and my email address is [email protected]. I am university editor at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI, which includes being content editor for the Web site www.lawrence.edu. Hence DOT EDU. My homepage.
Bob Beck

Bob Beck

The plate was first registered spring of 2000 and placed on a vintage Cadillac. The owner is the principal of WEBsight Design, Inc., . This Web development firm is based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. INTRNET was actually a second choice of names. Due to the seven letter limit, our business name, WEBsight Design, wouldn't fit on a license plate. But, to my surprise, the INTRNET moniker hadn't been taken. I wish I had that kind of luck with available domain names!
Jeff Goebel ISYSOP

Jeff Goebel

Registered in Ontario. Am I your first Canadian? My current plate is NET GUY, but I don't yet have a photo. Here is my 1996 plate; I SYSOP, which is an old modem/BBS term not much used anymore. I used to SYSOP a BBS for over 10 years in the days before the Internet. Its amazing how many different ways there are to pronounce SYSOP when you don't own a computer (grin).
WWWRJL

RJL

I registered this plate in 2000 when I purchased my 2000 BMW 323ci. The inspiration for the plates is my Internet software company, RJL Software. I founded the company in 1996 and it has been extremely successful over the years. I finally indulged myself and purchased a CEO's car, the BMW. I wanted to advertise to other drivers that you can make money on the Web (and that I'm a geek) so I put WWW RJL on my plates.
