Packaging a Multiple-Class Namespace
Tips: May 2002

You create a namespace with the package statement. It combines one or more classes into a logical group called a namespace. The following example shows a simple package containing two classes:

  package UK {
    public class Head {
      static var PrimeMinister : String = "Blair";
    }
    public class Localization {
      static var Currency : String = "Pound";
    }
  };
Notice we defined the classes as public, and their properties as static. The PrimeMinister and Currency variables are set for the class templates themselves, and will be known to all of their instances, created with the new Head and new Localization operators, respectively.
