Using Node Names to Search for DOMDocument Nodes
Tips: March 2002

Doc JavaScript

Use two forward slashes to search the DOMDocument tree all the way to the bottom. For example, when the context is the root, the //week pattern should find 12 week nodes down mydvd7.xml's tree (try it):

  var matchedNodes = xmlDoc.selectNodes('//week');
  alert("Number of matched nodes: " + matchedNodes.length);
Here is mydvd7.xml for your reference:

<?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="mydvd7.xsl"?>
