Netscape 6 support JavaScript 1.5. JavaScript 1.5 adheres to ECMA-262, revision 3. This version is also supported by Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5. One of the main features of revision 3 is number formatting. You have two formatting options: fixed and exponential.

For the fixed format, you may provide as a parameter the number of digits after the decimal point. For example, formatting the number 10.532 with 2 digits may be accomplished by the following script:

For the exponential format, you may provide as a parameter the number of digits after the decimal point in the mantisa. For example, foramtting the number 10.532 with 5 digits may be accomplished by the following script:
