When firing an event in a document fragment, you may want to pass event information to the primary document. You need to populate an event object and send it as a parameter in the fireEvent() method:

bReturn = object.fireEvent(sEvent [, oEventObject]);

You create the event object with the createEventObject() method, first introduced in IE 5.5:

oNewEvent = document.createEventObject( [oEventObject])
